About
I’m Ava, a New York-based cook, artist, MUA, and writer from Indiana. With a keen eye for detail and a diverse range of skills, I combine my various interest through cooking projects, freelance and film set makeup, freelance editing work, and whatever else strikes my fancy.
I graduated summa cum laude from Bryn Mawr College in 2024 with a degree in English literature and a minor in art history. I specialized in modern Irish literature, which took me abroad to Trinity College Dublin in the fall of 2022. While in Dublin, I developed an interest in the work of Samuel Beckett. My senior thesis, “Beckett’s Triptych of Displacement: Trilingual Deterritorialization in Molloy,” which won the M. Carey Thomas award for best essay in the graduating class, examines the destabilizing act of reading a work that traverses linguistic and cultural borders.
